Green Floral

Jacket- H&M (similar), Shirt- Target (similar), Skirt- Zara, Boots- Zara (similar), Earrings- Forever 21, Bag- Forever 21, Tights- Target

I want to start by giving credit where credit is due, and let you know that this outfit was completely inspired by Liz of Sequins and Stripes. I loved this outfit on her and figured it was the perfect way to style my new green floral skirt. I want to try styling my white button up in different ways since it really is such a classic wardrobe staple. I usually only bring mine out when I want a white collar to peek out of a sweater, but I need to wear it on its own more often.

A Date Night Look

Top- Zara, Skirt- Sosie, Shoes- JustFab, Clutch- Target

Every now and then, I wear something that is way too fancy for the occasion, just because I feel like it. On the evening I wore this outfit, my boyfriend and I decided to try out a show at the Dallas Comedy House in Deep Ellum. Those of you who are familiar with Deep Ellum know that these shoes (well, really the entire outfit) are SO not Deep Ellum. But I didn't care. They were new and I wanted to wear them despite our plans. It was also very windy, which made my freshly curled hair go flat, and also made for some fun moments trying to keep my top and skirt from flying around all crazy, but I also didn't care about that. Sometimes you just gotta wear what you want.

In case you are interested, this skirt is still in stock at Sosie, and it is $7.75. Yes, you read that right! Now, I'll be honest- the thing is sheer. Since it flares out at the bottom, that part is fine. I did feel the need to cover the top half of it to be more comfortable. I rigged it up with a slip underneath, and my top was long enough to cover anything embarrassing so I felt fine in it. So yeah. If you like to wear fussy skirts that require long tops and slips and all that, this one's for you. (I really sold that, didn't I? Now we all know why it's on sale for $7.75. But I'm still going to wear it.)

Work Wear: A New Skirt

Blazer- Gap (similar), Blouse- Asos (similar), Skirt- Ann Taylor, Sandals- Zara (similar), Bag- Zara, Bracelet- identical

After keeping track of my clothing purchases for three months in a row, I realized that I really don't like spending money on work clothes. I'd so much rather buy a dress or a skirt to wear on the weekends, or a cute pair of not-so-work-appropriate heels. But spending all my money on things I wear two days out of the week instead of the other five left me really wishing I had some new skirts and pants to play with. I'm trying to spice things up a bit to keep from getting bored!

This striped skirt seemed like a great piece to invest in, and since I got it 40% off, it wasn't even quite an investment. I love the colors in it and figured it would be really easy to match with tops I already own. But when I tried to pick a top to pair it with, I got stuck. Apparently I reallllly like printed tops, almost as much as I like printed bottoms. I weeded through all of my patterned tops and finally settled on this one- a very classic, feminine, and professional piece. My favorite navy blazer was the perfect finishing touch. What I ended up with was a much cuter version of what I've been wearing, and something I felt a lot more confident in!

I used to post work outfits on a weekly basis, and I'm going to make an attempt to get back to that as motivation to keep finding ways to enjoy my 9 to 5 looks a little more.

The Lookalike Dress

Dress- Gap (similar), Sandals- Zara (similar), Bag- Zara, Necklace- Express (similar), Bracelet- Express, Sunglasses- similar

A year or so ago, I remember seeing a striped shift dress with pockets from Club Monaco and loving it. Unfortunately, Club Monaco is basically always out of my budget, so I had to pass. I'm really glad I caught this Gap version before it sold out! It's the perfect spring dress. It took me from Saturday errands to date night without having to change any piece of my look (well, maybe that's because I'm a wear heels everyday kind of girl so I didn't have to change my shoes).

Do you guys ever find yourself wearing the same color constantly? March was kind of the month of pink for me, and I'm starting to think blue will be my favorite color for April, as evidenced by my new Zara bag and two blue outfits in a row. I didn't think I would like carrying my blue bag with a blue dress, but since it matched the color of the pockets, I couldn't resist!

C'est La Vie

Blazer- Zara (similar), Tee- J.Crew, Jeans- c/o Aeropostale, Heels- Zara, Necklace- Jewelmint (similar)
Bag- Michael Kors, Watch- Fossil, Bracelet- Glam Grab (similar)

I love Zara heels. I have quite a few pairs, and they are by far the most comfortable heels I own. Most of the ones I own are from the Trafaluc line (since they are a lot cheaper, duh!). I don't have any red shoes, so I decided to snatch up this pair to create some of the outfits I've been dreaming up. I wore this out to a concert with the bf and his friends last Friday. It's been a while since I've seen live music and it was tons of fun. I'll admit though- while these shoes were perfectly comfortable to walk around in, standing up for 2 hours was not a good idea. I'll know better next time.

I debating getting this blazer tailored since its several sizes too big, but after trying it on a few more times, I decided it was actually the perfect "boyfriend" fit. Of course its not something I'd wear to work, but I liked it over a t-shirt for a casual night out look. I'm really digging the powder blue and red combo (inspired by this)!

Blue Leather

Tee- Target, Jacket- c/o Aeropostale (similar linked below), Skirt- Zara (similar here, here), Boots- Dolce Vita
Watch- Fossil, Necklace- Forever 21, Bag- Michael Kors, Sunglasses- similar

I am a Pinterest addict. I subscribe to four fashion magazines (People StyleWatch, Glamour, InStyle and Lucky). I read tons of fashion blogs daily. What I'm trying to say is that I have tons and tons and tons of outfit ideas on my Pinterest board and saved to my phone, but I hardly ever go back and look at them for inspiration. I'm trying to get better about it so that the hours a week spent pinning outfits doesn't go to waste.

I saw a look on Jamie Chung in the March issue of People StyleWatch and immediately knew I had to recreate it. I've worn this Aeropostale leather jacket over a tee with jeans a few times, but I loved the idea of it with a navy floral skirt. Thankfully, I already own one (though I did search online for the exact skirt Jamie wore- it was so cute!).

Unfortunately my jacket is sold out online, but run to your Aero store to see if it's still in stock! It was really affordable (under $30) and is such a fun spring alternative to a black leather jacket. If you can't find it, I found similar hued options here and here.

Winter White

Sweater- Aeropostale (similar), Shirt- Zara boys (similar), Jeans- American Eagle, Booties- Dolce Vita, Bag- purchased in Italy,
Sunglasses- Forever 21 (similar), Rings- Boutique to You, Forever 21, Watch- Fossil

I was so excited to add some new white jeans to my wardrobe last month. I love white on white looks, and with my old, ill-fitting pair, I hadn't been able to style any in a while. I reworked one of my favorite combos (the sweater and button-up shirt) for a Saturday of lunch out and errands. I convinced the bf to stop along the way and take some pictures in a location other than right outside my apartment. Variety :)

These booties were one of my last purchases in December, and I'm excited that I've already gotten to wear them. I really like the concept of a peep-toe bootie. I mean, they aren't exactly super warm, but they aren't an open-toed sandal either. I thought they would be perfect for transitioning into spring. And sometimes in Dallas, it feels like spring is already  here.
