I want to start by giving credit where credit is due, and let you know that this outfit was completely inspired by Liz of Sequins and Stripes. I loved this outfit on her and figured it was the perfect way to style my new green floral skirt. I want to try styling my white button up in different ways since it really is such a classic wardrobe staple. I usually only bring mine out when I want a white collar to peek out of a sweater, but I need to wear it on its own more often.

Sporty Floral

As much of a girly girl as I am, I have been loving the sporty trend. Okay, and maybe this isn't exactly sporty, but the stripes around the collar and sleeves are enough of a reference for me. This is my ode to Poppy Delevigne's look here. If you are interested in this jacket, just know that it runs pretty small. I'm wearing a large here and it fits perfectly.

In the world of white tees, this one is pretty perfect. It's incredibly soft and washes well. Everlane has other colors and styles and I highly recommend checking them out if you haven't already.

Collared Dress

A floral shirtdress was one of the pieces I wanted to shop for this fall, so I was excited when I thought to pair this old dress with a sleeveless button up to create a similar look without having to buy anything. I love that the look is a little 60's mod since the dress is a shift, but I added the peep-toe booties to make it a little more modern. I'm really into mixing shades of navy and burgundy for fall, so I carried my burgundy crossbody bag to complete the look. My look isn't quite as fabulous as the Erin Featherston dress that inspired me, but I still really like it!

Floral Shorts

Especially in the summer, I realize just how much I love printed bottoms. I love a good printed top, but there is something about wearing prints on skirts, pants and shorts that I love even more. These shorts are super girly and easy to dress up or down since they almost look like a skirt.

As you can tell, I recently took the plunge with a pretty drastic haircut. It was one of those where you go in thinking you'll cut off about four inches and seven come off instead. I've been itching to go back to ombre, so I figured why not do that too?! So far its been a bit of an adjustment since it takes a bit longer to style at this length, but it's growing on me. It's definitely been nice to have shorter hair now that the weather has gotten so hot.

A Date Night Look

Every now and then, I wear something that is way too fancy for the occasion, just because I feel like it. On the evening I wore this outfit, my boyfriend and I decided to try out a show at the Dallas Comedy House in Deep Ellum. Those of you who are familiar with Deep Ellum know that these shoes (well, really the entire outfit) are SO not Deep Ellum. But I didn't care. They were new and I wanted to wear them despite our plans. It was also very windy, which made my freshly curled hair go flat, and also made for some fun moments trying to keep my top and skirt from flying around all crazy, but I also didn't care about that. Sometimes you just gotta wear what you want.

In case you are interested, this skirt is still in stock at Sosie, and it is $7.75. Yes, you read that right! Now, I'll be honest- the thing is sheer. Since it flares out at the bottom, that part is fine. I did feel the need to cover the top half of it to be more comfortable. I rigged it up with a slip underneath, and my top was long enough to cover anything embarrassing so I felt fine in it. So yeah. If you like to wear fussy skirts that require long tops and slips and all that, this one's for you. (I really sold that, didn't I? Now we all know why it's on sale for $7.75. But I'm still going to wear it.)

Chino Shorts

Tanks and shorts are necessities in the Texas heat (which is already rearing its ugly head!). I'm a huge fan of colored and printed bottoms for any occasion and any time of year, but colorful shorts seem especially fun during summertime. I love J.Crew chino shorts since they come in so many colors, patterns and inseams. My favorite are the 4"- not too long and not too short. I also love that you can get different colors at the factory store, though they are basically the exact same short as the regular store styles. The only color I wouldn't recommend? White. They are unwearably see-through, so I tried out a white pair from Old Navy instead.
