Here we are again at the end of another month. Time seriously flies! I am definitely excited for summer and all the fun that it brings! I am looking forward to pool time with the girls, movies at the drive in, sno cones, and more daylight. I'm hoping for a weekend getaway or two, and also to find a friend who owns a boat (haha...)! Do any of you have fun plans for the summer?

Work Wear: A Little Leopard

Today is Thursday so it's time for another work wear post! I am continuing with my theme of showing warm weather appropriate work looks with a peplum top and pencil skirt. Its such an easy combination to put together in any mix of colors or prints. I chose to wear solids on top and bottom this time, but worked in some leopard print with my heels. I definitely consider leopard print to be a neutral, so you can wear it with almost anything! Just be sure to keep it tame for the office by only adding a little bit of animal print to your look.

I love a good maxi dress for spring and summer. Its a great way to stay cool while still being covered up. Wear it on a casual Saturday, dress it up with wedges at night, or throw it over your swimsuit for the perfect cover up at the beach or the pool!

I was thrilled when Amy of That's Mine Boutique contacted me about styling one of her gorgeous necklaces and knew this coral and turquoise number would look perfect paired with this geometric maxi dress I already had in my closet. Work Wear: Island Style

Another really easy outfit to wear for work when the weather is warming up is the sleeveless blouse / pencil skirt combo. Its just covered up enough to be professional while still keeping you cool. This look was all about color for me, which you can totally do more of for work in the warmer months. I paired an island print top with my bright blue skirt for more personality than classic black.

Roses and a Peplum

I talked about this skirt last week in my What Blogging Made Me Buy post. So to recap, my BFF got this skirt for her birthday and I really liked it. Then, I saw it on Krystin of Suburban Faux Pas and decided not to pass it up! I styled it similar to how Krystin did, with a striped tee and some ankle strap heels. I really love her style...obviously! I really like the quality of this skirt. Unlike a lot of skirts from Forever 21 which are made of that horrible spandex material, this one is mostly cotton. It's definitely classy enough to wear to work.

I am also super in love with my new bag from Francesca's, and I love the look of the white bag with the white skirt. The more white the better!

I did a little remodeling on the blog last night. Felt like it needed something new for spring/summer! What do you think of the new colors?

Spring Uniform: Peplum and Skinnies

If I had to pick a go-to outfit, it would have to be skinny jeans and a peplum top. Last week I posted an similar outfit- a cream peplum with lavender floral skinnies. Here are two more variations on my "spring uniform," which both include my mint skinnies of course! I think a peplum top is a great shape on a lot of different body types, and it definitely helps to cover a bulky midsection.

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend. I spent some time by the pool (and am now sufficiently burned) and indulged in some retail therapy with one of my BFFs. Now we're starting the week off right with two spring trends- print mixing and black and white! I love the way this Oasap polka dot top looks paired with my Forever 21 striped skirt. Can you believe this skirt was only $13? The shape of it makes me feel like a tulip! I added these mustard wedges that I got on clearance at Target for just a little pop of color.
