Burgundy and cobalt are a more unexpected pairing, but they look great together! If you are afraid to match separates in out-of-the-box combinations, try choosing a piece that has both colors in it like this sweater. That takes a lot of the guesswork from mixing and matching!

Do you ever put together an outfit and realize every piece of it is from the same store? I did that here- my shirt, pants and heels are all from Target! Clearly that shows what great pieces Target has come out with lately, especially these pants! I saw them in the Target x Blair Eadie fall lookbook and fell in love. As soon as I saw them in the store, I snatched them up! I am so in love in windowpane print for fall, and have no shame buying every article of clothing I can find in this print. Hey, it makes sense, because the print is sticking around for spring (at least according to the runways at fashion week).

Fall Florals

I felt a little presumptuous titling this post "fall florals" considering it is literally 95 degrees as I write this, but I wanted to highlight the trend, not the current temperature. Florals are just as big for fall as they were for spring and summer. Wear larger scale floral prints in deeper shades, like cobalt, black and burgundy.

Work Wear: Cobalt and Lime

I love a good pencil skirt. Add a peplum to it and its even more perfect! I love the subtle neon lime color of this skirt, and I had to break out my cobalt pumps to wear it with. I'm trying to get in as much color as possible before fall hits, when I'll want to wear darker colored clothing. The black top toned down the look so it wasn't too loud for work.

Happy 4th! I will be spending my day at the pool and grilling out! Let's just pretend my lipstick is red here, that way this post will fit the theme of the day :) This blue monochrome look is one of my favorites! I absolutely love the print on these pants, and how perfect that I had a cobalt top that matched the color exactly. A good rule of thumb if the monochrome trend scares you is to make sure one of your pieces has a print to it. Here, the white floral print on my pants breaks up the color a bit so I don't look like Veruca Salt from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

Summer Lookbook: LWD

Summertime doesn't mean you have to put away your little black dresses, but it does mean that you can do something a little different- a LWD! White dresses are everywhere this summer. Aside from the obvious concern of getting it dirty, white dresses can be very easy to wear. You can pair them with any color shoes, accessories, and jewelry! For this outfit, I dressed it up a bit with heeled sandals, but I have worn this dress with a denim vest on top, a tan belt and sandals for a more casual look. Casual Friday

I had every intention of putting together a 3 Ways to Wear post for today...but then I got sick. I was home most of the week with a yucky cold and cough (otherwise known as an upper respiratory infection), so taking outfit pics wasn't exactly first priority. Instead, I present to you a casual Friday look! This top was such a fun find from Forever 21 (ummm, do I even own clothes from any other store?!?). I love the geometric print, cobalt, and I LOVE peplum, so it was perfect.

I've been on the hunt for silver jewelry lately ever since I bought a pair of silver ankle strap heels. I realized then that basically all the jewelry I own is gold!

I love a casual Friday outfit that can take me from day to night. These heels aren't too tall to still be somewhat "casual" (in my mind, at least!). All I have to do to take my work look to a night out is add a clutch! So easy.
