Work Wear: Floral Pencil

Top- New York & Co. (similar), Skirt- H&M, Heels- Zara (similar), Necklace- Baublebar, Watch- Fossil

Several printed pencil skirts are making their way into my closet this fall, and this burgundy one from H&M couldn't be more perfect! I love that it has two panels, and that the print is smaller on top, larger on bottom for added interest. Since the floral print is monochrome, you don't have to feel crazy wearing this too the office. A bit of shine makes it feel even more special. I can't wait to dress up this piece for a night out!

All About the Shoes

Top- New York & Co (similar here, here), Jeans- c/o Aeropostale, Wedges- Charlotte Russe, Bag- Francesca's (similar), Necklace- Francesca's, Bracelet- Groopdealz (similar)

Do you even plan an entire outfit around your shoes? That's what I've done here. I love the look of these sleek white patent wedges. They reminded me of a Zara pair for less than half the price!

So, the question is, are these shoes comfortable? Kind of. The height is fine, but the patent leather is pretty stiff, making bandaids on the backs of my heels an absolute necessity. And maybe next time I won't wear them all day at work, and out at night. Ouch.

Casual Friday

Top- Forever 21, Jeans- similar, Heels- Zara (similar), Necklace- Francesca's, Watch- Target (love this!), Bracelet- similar, Clutch- Target (similar)

I had every intention of putting together a 3 Ways to Wear post for today...but then I got sick. I was home most of the week with a yucky cold and cough (otherwise known as an upper respiratory infection), so taking outfit pics wasn't exactly first priority. Instead, I present to you a casual Friday look! This top was such a fun find from Forever 21 (ummm, do I even own clothes from any other store?!?). I love the geometric print, cobalt, and I LOVE peplum, so it was perfect.
I've been on the hunt for silver jewelry lately ever since I bought a pair of silver ankle strap heels. I realized then that basically all the jewelry I own is gold!
I love a casual Friday outfit that can take me from day to night. These heels aren't too tall to still be somewhat "casual" (in my mind, at least!). All I have to do to take my work look to a night out is add a clutch! So easy.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Work Wear: A Little Leopard

Top- Forever 21, Skirt- H&M (similar), Heels- Forever 21, Necklace- Jeweliq (identical), Watch- Fossil, Bracelet- Glam Grab (similar), Ring- Chloe and Isabel

Today is Thursday so it's time for another work wear post! I am continuing with my theme of showing warm weather appropriate work looks with a peplum top and pencil skirt. Its such an easy combination to put together in any mix of colors or prints. I chose to wear solids on top and bottom this time, but worked in some leopard print with my heels. I definitely consider leopard print to be a neutral, so you can wear it with almost anything! Just be sure to keep it tame for the office by only adding a little bit of animal print to your look.

Roses and a Peplum

Tee- Forever 21, Skirt- Forever 21, Heels- Zara (similar), Necklace- Luxe Craving, Ring- Chloe and Isabel, Sunglasses- similar, Bag- Francesca's

I talked about this skirt last week in my What Blogging Made Me Buy post. So to recap, my BFF got this skirt for her birthday and I really liked it. Then, I saw it on Krystin of Suburban Faux Pas and decided not to pass it up! I styled it similar to how Krystin did, with a striped tee and some ankle strap heels. I really love her style...obviously! I really like the quality of this skirt. Unlike a lot of skirts from Forever 21 which are made of that horrible spandex material, this one is mostly cotton. It's definitely classy enough to wear to work.

I am also super in love with my new bag from Francesca's, and I love the look of the white bag with the white skirt. The more white the better!

I did a little remodeling on the blog last night. Felt like it needed something new for spring/summer! What do you think of the new colors?

Spring Uniform: Peplum and Skinnies

Top- Forever 21, Jeans- Zara (similar), Flats- similar, Sunglasses- Forever 21, Necklace- Express

Top- Limited (similar), Flats- Zara, Necklace- BaubleBar (similar), Sunglasses- similar

If I had to pick a go-to outfit, it would have to be skinny jeans and a peplum top. Last week I posted an similar outfit- a cream peplum with lavender floral skinnies. Here are two more variations on my "spring uniform," which both include my mint skinnies of course! I think a peplum top is a great shape on a lot of different body types, and it definitely helps to cover a bulky midsection.

Pastel Printed Denim

Top- Forever 21, Jeans- Uniqlo, Flats- similar, Necklace- Minusey

Along with colored denim, I have also been loving printed denim. These lavender jeans have the perfect subtle floral print. They are also a little special because I got them in Paris when I was there a few months ago. They are from a store called Uniqlo, which originated in Japan. It wasn't too long ago that they started popping up in the US in major cities such as NYC and Chicago. It reminds me of a cross between Zara and H&M. They have a lot of very affordable basics, and also some fun items in bright colors and fun prints, such as these jeans. If you live anywhere near one, I highly recommend that you check it out! You can also shop Uniqlo online.
