Day to Night: Black Boots

Sweater- Marshalls (love this), Jeans- H&M (similar on sale! ), Boots- Shoedazzle, Bag- Phillip Lim for Target, Necklace- Just Svara, Sunglasses- similar

Chambray- Kohl's (on sale $18! ), Dress (worn as skirt)- Forever 21, Necklace- similar

I've seen the Stuart Weitzman 5050 boots in just about every magazine I've read lately, so when I saw these boots in a similar style on Shoedazzle, I decided to retire my 2 year old black boots for this pair. I got them for $24.95 since it was my first order on the site. Such a great price, and the quality doesn't disappoint.

Since my journey through shopaholic recovery, I'm trying to be better about buying pieces that are versatile. Of course flat knee-high boots can be styled tons of ways for casual daytime looks, so I set out to prove that they could work for a nighttime look too. Now, when I say "nighttime," I'm not talking clubwear, but for dinner out on the weekend, this look is perfect. The boots make the shorter hemline of my skirt a little more tasteful, and help to keep my legs warm (well, once it gets cold here they will).

For another versatility challenge, I am determined to style my windowpane print dress in at least 4 ways. I especially love it as a skirt!

Effortless

Sweater- J.Crew Factory (25% off with J.Crew card, enter CARDPERK  at checkout), Jeans- Zara, Heels- Shoemint (20% off first pair with code shcart20 ), Bag- Phillip Lim for Target, Sunglasses- similar, Necklaces- Express, similar, similar, Ring- Baublebar

I've been obsessed with effortless, neutral outfits lately. The kind that are easy to put together in a hurry, but still leave you feeling stylish. For me, the key to feeling polished in simple pieces is to choose a pair of shoes with a little interest. The snakeskin print of these Shoemint heels is neutral but still fun and pairs perfectly with my tan sweater and lightwash jeans. I'm still trying to perfect my half-tuck and sleeve-rolling abilities to create an effortlessly cool look! I think I'm getting a little better at it, what do you think? :)

Sweatshirt Chic

Sweatshirt- Forever 21 (similar), Skirt- Zara (similar), Boots- LC Lauren Conrad, Bag- Phillip Lim x Target, Necklace (worn as bracelet)- Nordstrom, Earrings- Forever 21

Embellished sweatshirts are a big hit for fall, so I was very happy to find this one in the back of my closet and come up with some more creative ways to style it. Embellished sweatshirts easily take you from day to night since they are a really casual piece, but the embellishments dress up your look just enough for a night out. This season, I've seen sweatshirts styled with leather leggings, pencil skirts, full tulle skirts, and tons of other ways. I chose to pair mine with a striped mini skirt. I tested out the "half-tuck" and rolled up my sleeves in attempt to achieve that effortless J.Crew-esque look that I am always aiming to replicate. I really liked the end result!

Work Wear: Mustard

Blouse- Kohl's (on sale $24.99, 15% off with code LEAVES), Trousers- H&M (purchased in store in August), Heels- Zara (similar), Bag- Phillip Lim for Target

Printed trousers for work are my FAVORITE this fall. And in this graphic print in a mustard shade, you can't go wrong! These pants are super affordable ($25 at H&M), plus I can totally wear them year round. I really love mustard and pale blue as a transitional fall color combo, so this top from Kohl's finished out my look, along with my baby Lim!

I normally don't wear anything on my lips besides chapstick, but when I do, you can bet it is going to be a bright lipstick. This is Revlon's Fire & Ice. I love the matte lip trend for fall, so I blotted my lips with a tissue after application and put a little powder on top to seal the color. I imitated this look on my nails with my Essie Matte About You topcoat on top of red polish. I think I'm going to be obsessed with matte nails for fall!

Shopping List: 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target

When I found out Phillip Lim was designing a collection for Target, I was beyond excited. The reason? The Pashli Satchel. Words can't describe how much I love that bag. I have two knockoffs- in white and forest green. Maybe one day, I'll save up enough to actually own one. But for now, I'll stick to the Phillip Lim for Target collection :)

The collection debuts Sunday, September 15th at Target. Somehow I managed to narrow down my wishlist into just these 3 items. I NEED those bags! What pieces are you thinking of picking up?

Birthdays are a good excuse to create wishlists of items totaling $$$$, right? Mine is next Tuesday and I've been compiling list upon lists of fall clothes, bags, shoes, and accesories. But who am I kidding- not many of these things will actually end up in my closet, but a girl can dream! I've been a little crazy with the fall shopping lately- not really buying, just looking. Add these items to my previous fall wishlist and you've got an entirely new wardrobe. (*Note: the J.Crew Factory herringbone vest and sweater have already found a home in my closet since I compiled this wishlist. Couldn't pass them up!)
