Work Wear: Island Style

Another really easy outfit to wear for work when the weather is warming up is the sleeveless blouse / pencil skirt combo. Its just covered up enough to be professional while still keeping you cool. This look was all about color for me, which you can totally do more of for work in the warmer months. I paired an island print top with my bright blue skirt for more personality than classic black.

Roses and a Peplum

I talked about this skirt last week in my What Blogging Made Me Buy post. So to recap, my BFF got this skirt for her birthday and I really liked it. Then, I saw it on Krystin of Suburban Faux Pas and decided not to pass it up! I styled it similar to how Krystin did, with a striped tee and some ankle strap heels. I really love her style...obviously! I really like the quality of this skirt. Unlike a lot of skirts from Forever 21 which are made of that horrible spandex material, this one is mostly cotton. It's definitely classy enough to wear to work.

I am also super in love with my new bag from Francesca's, and I love the look of the white bag with the white skirt. The more white the better!

I did a little remodeling on the blog last night. Felt like it needed something new for spring/summer! What do you think of the new colors?

Spring Uniform: Peplum and Skinnies

If I had to pick a go-to outfit, it would have to be skinny jeans and a peplum top. Last week I posted an similar outfit- a cream peplum with lavender floral skinnies. Here are two more variations on my "spring uniform," which both include my mint skinnies of course! I think a peplum top is a great shape on a lot of different body types, and it definitely helps to cover a bulky midsection.

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend. I spent some time by the pool (and am now sufficiently burned) and indulged in some retail therapy with one of my BFFs. Now we're starting the week off right with two spring trends- print mixing and black and white! I love the way this Oasap polka dot top looks paired with my Forever 21 striped skirt. Can you believe this skirt was only $13? The shape of it makes me feel like a tulip! I added these mustard wedges that I got on clearance at Target for just a little pop of color.
