Work Wear: Brighten It Up

I like to wear more color in the warmer months, but this black sheath dress is my favorite and I was determined to style it for summer. The best way to brighten up black is to add color to it! (kind of a no-brainer...) I chose to add my mint blazer on top to make my black dress more summer appropriate. The leopard pumps also add a fun touch. These heels are seriously so comfy! Another great Forever 21 find, of course. I added another pop of color with the lavender belt to mimic the purple color in my necklace.

Another idea to spice up a black sheath dress for summer? Add a bright button up underneath, and coordinating belt on top! I'm dying to try this with my teal gingham shirt.

Summer Lookbook: Free Flowing

Hi-low dresses have been in style since last summer, and they are still very popular this year. I love the floral print on mine, along with the drastic hemline that is a lot longer in the back than in the front. I feel like I have a long train trailing behind me when I walk! I paired it with mustard yellow wedges for church, but I could easily wear tan sandals for a more casual weekend look. I can also see this dress paired with my denim jacket, or even a chambray shirt on top.

My Beauty Faves

1. Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer- I use this concealer for blemishes and my under eye area. It provides a lot of coverage and really works to even out your skin tone.

2. Essie Nail Polish- My favorite thing about Essie nail polish is the color range. They are always coming out with new collections with great versatile shades.

3. Loreal Youth Code BB Cream- This BB cream has been the perfect tinted moisturizer for me this summer. for days that I don't want to go all out on foundation, this BB cream provides the perfect amount of coverage.

4. Sleek i-Divine Palette in Storm- I got a couple Sleek palettes while I was in Europe a few months ago, and I really love them! I have been using the Storm palette almost everyday. My favorite shade is the light champagne color- the second from the botton on the left side in the picture.

5. Strawberry Chapstick- I have been using this stuff for years. Out of all the lip products I own, this strawberry Chapstick is my go to. I put it on every morning, before bed, and any other time in between. It provides the perfect amount of moisture for my lips!

6. Pssssst! Dry Shampoo- For someone who has oily hair, dry shampoo is a must. I have tried so many different brands, and you really can't beat this drug store option for under $6! I love that it doesn't have a scent, and is really easy to work in to your hair. I use mine the second day after I wash my hair, and sometimes just for extra volume on my roots.

7. Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat- This is my all time favorite top coat. I haven't found any other quick try top coat that works this well. It is also super shiny!

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend. The highlights of mine were eating at my favorite TexMex restaurant- Chuy's, spending time with my mom on Saturday, a lazy Sunday, and getting hit in the nose with a frisbee. Hard. Okay, so maybe that last one wasn't a highlight, but it definitely made an impact! I'm still a little bit bruised and swollen, but otherwise I am feeling rested and ready for the new week!

There's nothing I love to wear more than a pretty dress. This one has lots of fun colors in its geometric shape pattern. I picked my favorite color from the dress, periwinkle, and worked it in with my accessories. And of course, a denim jacket can go with almost anything, so I threw that on top!
