Jeweled Beanie

Coat- H&M (similar under $40), Sweater- Old Navy, Jeans- c/o Aeropostale (similar under $20), Boots- Calvin Klein
Beanie- Target, Fur Collar- Charming Charlies (similar), Gloves- Target (similar), Bag- Rebecca Minkoff

Am I the only one who gets excited to see 30 and 40 degree days when I check my weather app? I have been thrilled that we have had some really cold days in Texas so that I can bundle up in lots of layers! It isn't often that I can get away with wear a hat, faux fur collar, coat, and gloves, so when the opportunity arises, I have to soak it up. I chose this outfit based around my rhinestone beanie and faux fur collar (that I found at Charming Charlie's for $5 might I add). My pink coat was screaming for the addition of the faux fur, and I love the mix of light pink, cream and gray. I couldn't resist adding the beanie on top, because it was cold, and because it's cute! I can't wait to style more cold weather looks in the weeks ahead.

Pink and Fuzzy

Sweater- c/o Aeropostale, Shirt- Forever 21 (similar), Jeans- Forever 21 (similar), Heels- Asos (similar)
Photos by Laura Ross

Every time I wear my boyfriend jeans I think to myself that I need to wear them a lot more. I just always gravitate to my skinnies! I do love dressed up looks with boyfriend jeans though, so I decided to give it another try. I've heard a lot of people talk about getting your proportions right when wearing baggier jeans on bottom, but I kind of like the look of them with a looser top rather than something more fitted.

I ordered this sweater in a medium from Aeropostale since I was afraid it would be a bit cropped, and I like the slighly oversized fit. (P.S. It's on sale for $15 and comes in four really nice pastel colors! I kinda want them all!) This sweater is incredibly soft. It pairs well with a semi-dressed up look, but its also something you can lay around the house in while wearing your pj pants. A touch of embellishment on my collar and silver heels finished off the look.

Pink Stripes

Top- Gap, Skirt- Sosie, Heels- Charlotte Russe, Bag- David Jones

My obsession with blush pink continues! I love this style of skirt, so in a blush shade, I didn't think twice. And what better to pair it with than more pink! I always feel kind of "barbershop chic" in this top. Is that even a thing? Happy Friday!

Blush Crush

Blouse- H&M, Jeans- c/o Aeropostale (similar), Heels- Michael Antonio, Earrings- Forever 21 (same in mint), Necklace- Forever 21 (love this)

If you couldn't already tell (see here, here, here, here, and here), I have an obsession with blush. When I saw these blush jeans at Aeropostale, how could I not add them to my closet? I plan for them to be just as wearable and versatile as my white jeans. While I can see them adding the perfect feminine touch to an edgy look, the first outfit idea that came to mind was to pair them with this blousy floral top for date night. Thankfully, the boyfriend has been more than willing to take pictures for me before we go out. We've been having a lot of fun experimenting with the camera!

Speaking of cameras, you may have seen on instagram that I bought my very own DSLR! I've been borrowing a camera from a friend for about six months now, and I figured it was finally time to invest in my own. I'm starting small with a Nikon D3100 and a 50 mm 1.8 lens. I'm going to recruit all my friends to model for me soon so I can practice the basics. So far I really only know how to focus, point, and shoot! If you have any tips for a first time SLR user, feel free to leave them below.

Fur Layer

Coat- H&M (similar), Vest- Sears, Top- Zara, Jeans- c/o Aeropostale, Boots- Zara, Bag- Coach, Necklace- Lulu's (similar here, here), Watch- Fossil

I've always loved the idea of layering with fur, but wasn't quite sure how to pull it off. It seems almost inevitable that it would look bulky. I think the secret is to wear your fur vest under a longer coat that already fits close to the body. This pink coat paired perfectly with my vest, which is great because I'm trying to wear it as often as I can before I have to pack it away until next winter!

So... I have to mention the elephant in the room- my new Coach bag! If you saw my February haul, you know I recently purchased a new Kate Spade bag, but when this one went on sale I decided it would be a nice to have for days when I want to carry something smaller. I'd been saving up a Nordstrom gift card I won a few month's ago, and this was a great piece to spend it on. Unfortunately it sold out pretty quickly after it was marked down, but I was able to find it on another website (linked above).

Pink Leopard

Jacket- Forever 21 (similar), Top- Old Navy, Jeans- American Eagle, Heels- Michael Antonio, Scarf- c/o Aeropostale
Bag- Michael Kors, Sunglasses- similar, Watch- Fossil, Bracelet- similar

I've been really excited to feature some of the new items I got from Aeropostale for spring, and this pink leopard scarf is the first of two. I saw a look on Peony Lim recently that inspired this pairing, switching out her blues for pinks and her blazer for a denim jacket. I'm not really into the whole "light spring scarf" thing since I find it to be too hot for my liking. I loved the way she just let her scarf drape, and it was actually a lot comfortable this way than trying to wear it around my neck. I really loved the mix of different shades of pink, and I thought white nails were a nice pop!

Ashley Madekwe Style

Dress- Dorothy Perkins, Jacket- H&M, Heels- Lulu's (same pair), Earrings- Forever 21

This was the outfit I wore for Valentine's day, and I wore it again to church this week. I've been a little obsessed with the shift dress/leather jacket combo ever since I saw it on Ashley Madekwe. It's a great mix of edgy and girly which is a vibe I try to channel often. I have been more than a little obsessed with pink lately, and even though this dress is bright, I figured it could totally be work appropriate with a black blazer since it's a very modest length.

I found these earrings at Forever 21 and thought they looked just like something you would find at Baublebar for a lot less! I don't have a lot of silver earrings so they were a no-brainer, and they worked really well with the silver details on my jacket and my silver heels.

I have to give a shoutout to my boyfriend who agreed to shoot a few outfits for me that I loved but didn't have a chance to shoot when I wore them. We found some really neat walls around his apartment that look a lot cooler than the scenery around mine! It'll be easier to do on-the-fly photo shoots after Daylight Savings Time when its still light out after I get home from work, but I enjoyed spending some time with him shooting for a few hours on Sunday.
