Fall Fashion: Patchwork Denim

Colored denim is being replaced with two-tone, patchwork, and coated styles for fall. Not to say you can't still rock colored skinnies in fall friendly hues like olive, burgundy, cobalt, and burnt orange, but there are so many new ways to wear regular denim washes this season.

I love these Aeropostale patchwork jeans. They incorporate the patchwork trend in the simplest of ways, with patches on the knees. But I couldn't stop there- I had to add a chambray top to complete the look. These jeans are more "boyfriend" than I've ever worn, so I had to figure out the right way to cuff them. I used the advice here, here and here for some great ideas on how to cuff my jeans.

This fall, don't be afraid to mix similar shades of denim. When I've worn the "Canadian tuxedu" before, I've made sure that my denim washes were in stark contrast to one another. The patchwork trend allows you to mix and match just about any denim shades you have in your closet.
