Holiday Lookbook: Office Party

A good rule of thumb for your holiday office party is to take your everyday work look up a notch. Separates instead of a dress keep things a little more casual. I chose one professional piece in a festive plaid and paired it with something with a bit of sparkle and shine. For my shoes, I wanted to wear something a little dressier than the average black pump, so I chose a metallic strappy sandal.

Have some fun with your accessories, but don't go overboard. A statement necklace and stud earrings are just enough to elevate your everyday work apparel. Choose one metal finish to keep things streamlined, as I did with my silver jewelry and belt.

Clutch- Target, borrowed 

A clutch is perfect to carry for any party. In a metallic finish, this snakeskin print clutch is classy but still adds a fun edgy element to my look.

A classic hairstyle like voluminous waves is easy to create and a little more fancy then your everyday look. I curled my hair same as I always do (with a really old 1" Conair straightener) but then brushed out the curls to give them a little more bounce and a softer look. I finished off with hairspray.

Since an office party can still be quite professional, I wanted to my makeup to be toned down but still festive. I applied silver eyeshadow all over my lids. For a bit of drama, I created a subtle cat eye using my favorite liquid liner. When applying thicker eyeliner, I like to go for long, thick lashes with a volumizing mascara. On my cheeks, I applied a soft peachy-pink blush. Where I may normally have chosen a red lip for a holiday look, I went for a more wearable pink shade.

To complete my look, I added some extra sparkle with a glittery nail polish. Red polish could make my look overly Christmassy—blue glitter is just as festive.

Europe Haul: Makeup and Nail Polish

Today, I want to show you the makeup and nail polish I bought on my trip to Europe! I was really excited to get my hands on some products that aren't available in the U.S. One brand I was really excited to check out was Kiko. It's a makeup store based in Milan that has drugstore prices. I've seen their polishes on some international nail polish blogs and popped in to 2 different locations in Rome to pick up these products.

First, I bought 3 nail polishes:

 336, 295, 343

...and on my second trip, I picked up two of their Ultra Glossy Stylo lip colors:

808 and 817

I checked out this second brand, Inglot in Coin, which is an Italian department store. They have a big range of products, but I decided to stick with a couple eye shadows and their magnetic palette:

I picked up three Sleek palettes, one in a Sephora in Milan, and the other two in Superdrug in London:

Another item I got in the Sephora in Milan was this Loreal nail polish. I've never seen these small polish bottles in the U.S. so I took a look and picked my favorite:

Lastly are some more Superdrug purchases in London. I had to pick up a couple Barry M nail polishes since I've heard great things:
