Work Wear: Burgundy and Cobalt

Sweater- Target (on sale $14.99!), Shirt- Target, Skirt- H&M (similar on sale $21.99), Heels- Forever 21 (similar 25% off with code HOLIDAY25), Earrings- Target, Watch- Fossil

Burgundy and cobalt are a more unexpected pairing, but they look great together! If you are afraid to match separates in out-of-the-box combinations, try choosing a piece that has both colors in it like this sweater. That takes a lot of the guesswork from mixing and matching!

By the way, be sure to check out Target's Pre-Black Friday sale, where all their sweaters are 40% off! I've picked up a few in the past few weeks, and I haven't been disappointed. They have tons of super cute ones, and they are incredibly affordable at 40% off! The one I'm wearing is only $14.99!

Hey, It's OK...

{image}

I really enjoyed coming up with my first "Hey, It's OK..." post inspired by Glamour magazine, so I decided to do another! Sometimes, you just need to cut yourself some slack, laugh a little, and have fun. That's what this post is all about!

...to only ever contribute dessert to your family's Thanksgiving spread. It's the best part of the meal!

...to create a Christmas List Pinterest board (here's mine) and then drop hints to your friends, BF, and parents about it.

...to start watching all the cheesy Lifetime and ABC Family Christmas movies you can stand...before Thanksgiving.

...to have an emotional reaction to the background music when Olivia and Fitz have a moment (Scandal, anyone? Please tell me you know what I'm talking about!).

...to be the only blogger who doesn't post multiple gift guides for the holidays. (I'm pretty sure all my fellow bloggers have found all the best of the internet already.)

...to plan out multiple holiday party outfits when the only ones you have to go to are tacky Christmas sweater parties.

...to go to Arby's so often with your BFF that they you know you by name (plus the fact that we are both named Katie makes it a little easier!).

...to cheat on your shopping budget and buy something you've wanted for years once you find it in stock again (this beauty!).

...if you buy two of something when Christmas shopping for your friends- one for you and one for them!

...to pretend its already the weekend on Thursday night and stay up late. You can always sleep in on Saturday!

If you have any "it's ok's," make sure to share them in the comments below!

Let's Try That Again

Sweater- Gap (limited sizes online, similar here), Jeans- c/o Aeropostale, Boots- Calvin Klein, Coat- Zara, Necklaces- Nordstrom, similar, Scarf- Forever 21 (love this, only $13.99!)

Budgeting. Ugh. Its hard. And its not fun. But it's necessary. I feel the need to confess after I shared my shopaholic nature last month. I went a month without shopping, and I felt great about my progress. As I shared closet cleaning, wishlist making, and smart shopping tips, what I was really doing was trying to ingrain those concepts into my own thick skull.

So I'm going to tell you just what happened after I ended my shopping ban halfway through October and decided I was ready to embark on my journey of shopping on a budget. First, I spent my October budget. Then, I kept going. I definitely overspent. I felt bad, but not bad enough to stop. I overspent in November too.

I'm not too far gone, but I felt like I need to be honest in case you start to notice me wearing some recently purchased clothes and wonder if I am really sticking to my budget. The only thing I can do at this point is try again. I am going to try to curb the shopping to a minimum until January. I have Christmas presents to buy after all! I'm going to spend some time brainstorming better ways to stay on budget. If you have any tips to share, I'd love to hear them!

Work Wear: Plaid Trousers

Sweater- Aeropostale (similar), Trousers- H&M, Heels- Zara (similar), Watch- Fossil

I love plaid. Plaid shirts, plaid scarves, plaid skirts, plaid sweaters, plaid pants, plaid everything. These are the most perfect plaid trousers EVER. I'm pretty confident in that claim. Why? They are only $25. And they literally feel like pajama pants. The fabric is soft, and the looser fit makes them so comfy. Comfy, but professional, trendy and  stylish. Can't beat that!

Don't forget to enter my Oasap giveaway!
